Welcome to my little Substack sanctuary.

This is where we explore the Holy in the unholy, the divine in the depths, the sacred in the shamed.

In this space I share both the preacher and the person, my journey of healing that never ends, a real path that I move along with as much spiritual integrity as I am able. And when I stand in a pulpit and say, you are loved just as you are, you know I’m out here discovering alongside you what Love actually means.

In this place we claim it all as holy. You are holy.

I share sermon videos, short essays, and stories of my honest experience. Every post ends with a musical benediction. It’s like a little worship service sent to your inbox every Sunday. You share your thoughts, experiences, and wonderings. Together we create a conversation, a communion, a community.

Each one of us carries a piece of the divine.

If you feel like your divinity doesn’t fit into traditional spirituality, bring it over here and know that you are not alone.

my story

My spiritual journey started in Catholicism, survived through years of mental illness and addiction, and eventually found a home in Unitarian Universalism. In 2019 I became an ordained UU minister. I’ve been a pastor and preacher at various congregations throughout the Pacific Northwest where I live with my family and other animals. I have an MFA in Creative Nonfiction, have edited and published a few literary magazines, and even released a folk album in 2006 titled Beloved On Earth. Find it on itunes (if you dare.)
